Award Winning Football In Thrapston...

Thrapston Town Juniors Football Club provides football development and coaching to local children in a safe and friendly environment.

This season we have over 150 boys and girls from ages 6 to18 playing and enjoying football. Most of these children play for one of our 14 teams in the Weetabix Kettering Youth League.

We also have our hugely popular Saturday morning Development Clinic for year R and year 1 children.  Here budding players can learn the basics of football before participating in organised matches when they start year 2.

The club is run entirely by volunteers from amongst the parents and families of the children. We are always looking for more volunteers so if you feel you can offer something to the club please contact the chairman. This doesn't have to be directly linked to football - we have several administrative and social roles too!!

Please see the club contacts tab at the top of this page for details of club officials and team managers.

Our primary function is to facilitate fun and safe football coaching experiences for local children, regardless of their skill level or prior understanding of the game.

Our secondary function is to support the formation and administration of age group football teams. None of our 14 teams in the various age groups would exist without someone stepping forward (usually from the parent group) to oversee and organise the individual team including coaching sessions and league matches. Absolutely no experience is required as the club will support the manager/coach through the FA Level 1 programme and provides a comprehensive New Manager guide. Mentoring is also encouraged from the more experienced managers and coaches within the club. Selection to the league team squad and individual positions on the field are made at the discretion of each team manager.

Most people involved with sport are by their nature competitive. At Thrapston Town Juniors we encourage excellence through continuous development. It doesn't matter what the starting point in ability of any of our teams or individual players, we celebrate and value all improvements in performance regardless of whether these result in wins or championships. To underline this, the under 7 to under 11 age group teams play weekly football matches without the publication of results or league tables.

We strongly request that all parents and supporters read the FA RESPECT guidelines and support the team and players by praising improvements and good play from both teams.

The club is based at the Castle Playing fields, Chancery Lane, Thrapston. This site is used by the Development Clinic and our U11 to U16 teams. Our mini football teams, U7 to U11 train at Islip Playing Field and play their matches at the North Park central venue in Kettering or Ringstead on Saturday or Sunday mornings.

For this current season Club Membership Fees are £100 per annum for players in a league squad and £80 per annum for those that attend training sessions only. These fees are collected in three installments in August, November and February of that season.

Members receive one or two training sessions per week. These are held at various venues in the area and on the 3G Astro pitch at Raunds Manor school from October to the end of March. Most age groups also train up to twice a week during the summer with perhaps a short break during the school holidays.

All of our teams' kit is supplied through local and national sponsors whose generosity enables the club to keep costs as low as possible. The club also make a contribution towards the cost of other kit including rain jackets and sweatshirts

We are an FA Chartered Standard Club and take the welfare of the children involved with the club very seriously. For further information please contact the club's Secretary: Pete George: 07702 216618/ clubsecretary@thrapstontownjuniors.co.uk
