Dear Parent/ Guardian
Over the summer the committee of the Junior Football Club has
reviewed how each team has charged and administered the collection
of training and match fees collected on behalf of the club.
During the investigation the committee has established a wide
range of practises amongst the teams, which in turn has raised
concerns in terms of equity across the club. Additionally as regards
the accounting of monies held by individual managers, there was
no formal or traceable accounting procedures, which could possibly
lead to liability issues for the club and individuals as we are
a Charter Standard Club.
To address these issues a small team of committee members were
asked to review and propose a standard system across the club.
The sub committee recommendations were voted on by the full committee
and the following has been agreed for the start of the new season:
Match Fees: £2.00 match fee is applicable for any player
participating in a match – there is some discretion for managers
to waive this fee if a player only plays a small part in a game.
Training Fees: £2.00 per week if a player trains in that
week. The frequency of training varies amongst teams but the fee
represents value for money even if training is held once a week.
All monies collected are due to the club and not individual teams
that gather them. All monies raised through match and training
fees will be re-invested in the club and ultimately all teams will
benefit. It is imperative that the club becomes more efficient
in collecting fees as we have major projects in the planning stage,
most importantly additional playing facilities for the junior club,
which we need to finance.
The club believes that standardising match and training fees and
communicating this to parents addresses concerns from within and
possibly from external governing bodies over the control of finances
within the club. Should you have any further questions please contact
your team manager or myself.
Finally, please help your manager and the club by paying fees
promptly as it is another task that has to be performed which is
not always the easiest, especially with all the other responsibilities
a manager has.
