The under 11's
continued their winning run with close victory at home to
Kettering Generals 2 - 1. Both teams started brightly, but
it was Generals who had most of the play for the first 20
minutes, eventually scoring with a long range effort. Keiran
Moore replied almost straight away following a move on the
left side. Half time 1 - 1. Second half saw Thrapston put
pressure on the Generals defence but it wasn't until 5 minutes
before the end when Jedd Whiteman slotted past the diving
Kettering keeper. A very entertaining game between two evenly
matched sides, with Thrapston taking all the points with the
final score 2 - 1.
The under 12's
Youth soundly beaten away at South Rushden 7 - 0.
The under 13's
comfortably beat Ise Lodge Eagle at home 5 - 2. A battling
first half which saw Thrapston go in at half time 2 - 1 up
through Sam Gough's penalty, and a good finish from Robert
Blades after a creative build up. Goode defending throughout
the match by Brendan May made it hard for Ise Lodge Eagles
who had more possession in the firts half. The second half
was all Thrapston who piled on the pressure with a Chris Meadway
double and Ali Jones firing in the edge of the area, and the
hard working Tim Heskins coming close on two occasions. With
only minutes remaining remaining Ise broke and chipped the
keeper.
