The played their first
game since mid-November, and were obviously hungry for victory
beating Wollaston 6 - 2, with a hat-trick from Joshua Cummins,
two from Tom Alsop and one from Michael McConnell.
The won a close scoring
game against Aztec Braves 3 -4 after a two month layoff. Thrapston
started well and went into a two goal lead with Ryan Caller
and William Caller getting the early golas. Aztec clawed a
goal back just before half time. Thrapston made three changes
in the second half, unsettling their play which led to Aztec
scoring an equalizer, a great shot 20 yards out which nobody
would have stopped. Soon after Aztec took the lead before
Graeme Wright levelled the score after going through one on
one and finishing well. The winner came from a penalty after
good play between Caller, Wright and Morrison, converted by
Ryan Caller. Man of the Match was William Morrison.
The got back into
winning ways with an excellent win over Red Generals. Reece
Evans bagged his first hat-trick of the season whilst Andrew
Meadway scored his first two goals of the season. This result
was especially pleasing after a three month winter break.
The game against Vicarage
Farm was postponed due to many of the Thrapston players unwell
to play.
The were well
beaten 10 - 0 at home by Castle Rise.
The played a home
game against Kettering Generals beating them soundly. With
Thrapston missing key players, they performed very well, Jonathon
Lawrence scoring two goals before half time along with Russell
Vallerious also bagging one. The second half saw Thrapston
continue their scoring spree with two goals by Leo Adams and
a second by Russell Vallerious following a good run. Darrell
Smith finished off scoring with a fine chip. Robert Hanson
played a faultless game in defence. Final score 7 - 0.
The entertained Rushden
Rangers at home. A very hard fought match, good saves from
both goalies in an end to end first half. Thrapston went in
2 – 1 up after a Chris Meadway opener in the first minute
and Liam Lynch’s quick turn and shot into the far corner.
Thrapston then scored a spectacular own goal from a Rushden
free kick. The second half saw Rushden level early but the
pace of Chris Meadway was too much for the away defence, and
he then scored two quick goals, to give Thrapston the advantage.
The visitors then piled on the pressure scoring with 15 minutes
left and continued to push hard for the equaliser until 2
minutes from time Chris Meadways electric pace and fantastic
finish put the game safe for Thrapston. Final score 5 - 3.
The game against Kingswood
was postponed due to an unfit pitch.
The recorded a good
victory against Ketton Junior. The first half saw Thrapston
defending a boggy goal, with the home side having some good
chances, with Martyn Clark hitting the cross bar from 18 yds
out. Finally, Thrapston broke the deadlock with Aiden Cowell
scoring with a 20 yard shot making it 1-0 at half time. The
second half saw the Thrapston Manager make some changes but
with only one substitute available, options where limited.
The changes paid off with Tom Purdy making a solo run at goal,
rounding the keeper to score. Ketton clawed one back before
Tom Purdy scored again, one on one with the keeper, after
he made a good initial save. A very good result on the day
against a good side. Final score 3 - 1.
