was postponed due to Earls Barton unable to field a team.
The lost 8 -1 away
at Irchester. A close first half, Thrapston going in at half
time at 2 – 1 down after a cool finish from Chris Meadway.
Thrapston started well in the second half, creating some good
chances, but Irchester raised their game and began to overrun
the tiring Thrapston team. Several good goals from Irchester
then followed, which was enough to drop the Thrapston heads
and there was no way back.
The were beaten away
by top side Higham Town. Higham were under pressure in the
first half, but scored against the run of play just before
half time. They doubled their lead just after the break and
then took control with a third. Thrapston kept plugging away
and were rewarded with a Higham own goal to make it 3 –
1, but the home side finished off the game just after to make
it 4 – 1.
The convincingly beat
Whittlesey Athletic at home. Some good football played by
Thrapston in the first half despite battling against the wind.
Thrapston fought well and were rewarded with Marc Harrison
putting the home side ahead. Further good pressure resulted
in Ben Purdy being brought down inside of penalty box. Marc
stepped up made no mistake in finishing. Half time 2 - 0.
The second half started a lot better than the first, Thrapston
having more of the play. Marc Harrison completed his hat-trick
making the score 3 - 0. Further domination kept Athletic pinned
back in their own half. This led to Ben Purdy running at goal
to beat the keeper with a clean shot. There then followed
an unfortunate incident involving Ben Purdy, running at the
goal and making a 50/50 challenge with the Athletic keeper.
The keeper subsequently needed hospital treatment.
With the replacement keeper's first kick resulting in a free
kick to Thrapston, Kyle Wood took it and placed it in the
back of the net for his first of the season. A very tough
game against bottom of league team but everyone was pleased
to get all three points. A blinding performance - well done.
Final score 5 - 0.
