The were beaten by a
well organized Generals side. Leading scorer Tom Alsop played
the first half in goal, scoring direct from a kick off, to
bring the score back to 3 - 1, after the Generals had raced
into an early lead. All the Thrapston team tried hard and
throwing caution to the wind, they occasionally left themselves
very exposed at the back. Their efforts were only rewarded
with a late Alsop consolation as Generals ran out 8 - 2 winners.
Man of the Match Josh Cummins battled hard in the first half,
before going in goal for the second period and making a couple
of good saves. The search for consistency and a regular goalkeeper
goes on!
The ended up with an

The made a positive
start to the 1st round cup game against Netherton. The first
half was very entertaining football by Thrapston, a big improvement
on
last weeks performance. Both teams were evenly matched until
the home side let an easy goal in, a mix up between defence
and keeper.
The second half saw Ben Smith equalized in just under 22 seconds
of the re-start. A committed performance by Thrapston continued,
with end to end play from both teams, but neither side could
break the deadlock. With full time at 1-1 extra time was then
played. Both teams applied pressure but couldn't score the
vital goal and so the game was decided on a penalty shootout.
After some goals and misses Netherton came out
winners but the under 15 lads played their part in a wonderful
game of football.
The penalty scorers were BEN SMITH , MARC HARRISON DAN MARSH,
WARREN SANGER , DAN HEIGHT & KYLE WOOD. the final score
ended up 6 - 7.
