The under 11's drew their first
game of the season away at Higham. Thrapston started the brighter
team, the away side eventually scoring half way through the
first half when a free kick by Ryan Gavin rebounded off the
post and was knocked in by Keiran Moore. Thrapston extended
their lead 15 minutes after the break, some good work down
the left, neat passing and an excellent finish by Keiran to
give Thrapston a 0 - 2 advantage. Higham then raised their
game and within 3 minutes had pulled a goal back following
some sloppy defending. Higham then really pressed for the
equalizer, and were rewarded with a scrambled goal shortly
before full time. A fair result at 2 - 2.
The under 12's Burton Cup game
against Ise Lodge was postponed due to weather.
The under 12's Youth game was
postponed as Ise Lodge didn't turn up for the match.
The under 14's game against Kingswood
was postponed.
The under 15's managed a superb
win away at North East Northants.
The first half was full of exitement and goals; with Dan Marsh
hitting another hat-trick after a six week lay off with an
injury. Tom Purdy also hit two good goals before Thrapston
then switched off and conceded an easy goal to make the score
1 - 5 at half time. The second half was more of an even game
which made it more interesting for spectators and soon Northants
scored after being allowed to run with the ball through the
defence. Thrapston then were spurred on and raised their game;
Aiden Cowell crossing some good balls into the area but they
could not find the back of the net. By this time Northants
had six goal keepers clearing balls of the line, and eventually
Aiden managed to get a nice clean goal. Soon after Ben Smith
scored number seven but it could have been twelve if Thrapston
could have penetrated the six man defence. Well done again
to the team and to all the supporters that watched travelled
today. Final score 2 - 7.
