The
under 11's won their fifth consecutive
game away at Oakley Lodge 1 - 7.
Thrapston got off to a flying start
with Jedd Whiteman running through a static Lodge defence
to score his first. Jedd doubled his tally after 12 minutes
with a good run from deep. Oakley remained calm and after
22 minutes pulled a goal back following an excellent run down
the wing and a superb cross which was met by the Oakley striker.
Oakley could have had more goals but for some fine goal keeping
by Rory Petts in the Thrapston goal.
Thrapston soon restored their two goal
advantage with a 20 yard strike by Jedd Whiteman to complete
his hat-trick. Thrapston made it 1 - 4 just on half time following
a good move down the right by Michael Cooke, releasing Craig
Mattingley who scored with a low shot. Half time 1 - 4.
Thrapston started the second half where
the first ended, with Keiran Moore netting on 32 minutes,
but were then held back until 6 minutes from time when Ryan
Gavin hit a speculative shot from 45 yards out, which cleared
the Oakley keeper. By this time Oakley looked ragged, and
shortly before the final whistle, Jedd Whiteman pounced on
a poor goal kick and score his fourth to make the final score
1 - 7.
