The
under 13's managed a 2 - 2 draw
away to Castle Rise. A hard fought draw where both teams struggled
early on to come to terms with a bumpy, hard pitch and swirling
wind. However Castle Rise took advantage of the wind holding
up a looping header which beat the Thrapston keeper, Sam Gough
standing just off his line.
Thrapston having got used to the conditions
began to take hold and after exerting some pressure equalized
through Chris Meadway, stabbing home a flamboyant throughball
from Lewis Dickinson. Half time score 1 - 1.
The second half began as the first
did and Castle Rise took the lead once again when Thrapston's
defence hesitated and the ball was put away from a tight angle.
Thrapston again rallied but seemed unable to convert their
pressure until late on, when Ali Jones took a through ball
in his stride and lashed home a superb and welldeserved equalizer.
Both Managers agreed it was a fitting result to a fair and
friendly game. Full time score 2 - 2.
