The under 9's
got back to winning ways after last weeks defeat against Weekley
Rovers, with a resounding thrashing of Grange United. Click
here for full report. Thrapston has sportingly agreed to play
the match as a five-a-side, as Grange only had five players
available.
Right from the off Thrapston took control with Ryan Caller
putting them in the drivers seat after only a few minutes.
The game was mainly one-way traffic with William Morrison
scoring a tap in and Ryan Caller completing his hat trick
before half time. Half time score 4 - 1.
All change at the start of the second half as Dave did his
impression of Sven Goran Eriksson by changing the whole team
bar the goalkeeper. Thrapston though don't have the same worries
as out National side, as they soon got back into the groove,
Graeme Wright putting them further ahead when he beat the
goalkeeper in a one on one situation. William Gadsby added
another whilst inspired him to his best match ever. With Graeme
Wright on fire up front he added a few more to take his tally
to four. Final score 9 - 1.
All in all, this was probably the best team performance of
the season, all be it against weaker opposition. Man of the
Match William Gadsby
1st half team: Mahon, Sorrell, Canter, Morrison, Caller.
2nd half team: Mahon, Hansford, Gadsby, Munhro, Wright
