The Under 12's
were narrowly beaten 1 - 3 at home to Earls Barton Green.
Earls Barton started the game the brighter, but some stout
defending by the home side kept the scores level. Thrapston
then took control for 15 minutes and created a number of chances,
but some good defending by Earls Barton frustrated the home
side. Shortly before half time, Earls Barton were awarded
a penalty, after a sloppy challenge in the box, which the
Barton player slotted home. Half time 0 - 1. The second half
saw both sides create chances and within 10 minutes Thrapston
were level. Keiran Moore was brought down on the edge of the
area, and Ryan Gavin's free kick was handled on the line by
a Barton player. Keiran Moore stepped up and converted the
penalty to make the score 1 - 1. Thrapston continued to press
but couldn't finish their chances and with 5 minutes to go
Earls Barton took the lead again, followed shortly by their
third. An extremely entertaining game. Final score 1 - 3.
The Under 13's
beat Oakley Lodge away 1 - 2. Thrapston played well in the
first half and were unfortunate to be 1 - 0 down at half time,
with Cory James missing a good chance. Half time 1 - 0. The
second half saw Tharpston dominate from the off, with Fraser
Talbot's speculative shot resulting in an Oakley own goal.
Daryl Smith got the winner shortly after and the score could
have been greater but for Daniel Lynch missing a penalty.
Final score 1 - 2.
