The managed
a 1 - 1 against Generals White.
What a difference a week makes, the addiction of the last
few weeks performances and now the cold turkey associated
with our poorest performance in a long time – oh how
we craved some extra chilli sauce to have spiced up this encounter!
In a game where the Tornadoes rarely looked as if they could
enchant the expectant crowd they found themselves on the back
foot early on from a surprise package of a Generals White
team, who played well above themselves.
Midway through the first half the Tornadoes found themselves
a goal down when from a corner the Whites managed to shish
the ball into the Tornadoes net past a static defence. How
would the Tornadoes react? – effort and commitment redoubled
the Tornadoes clawed there way back into the game but rarely
threatened to equalise.
1-0 down at half time several changes were made to the team
and although having the lions share of the second half failed
to apply any sustained pressure and create chances. As the
sands of time drained away the Tornadoes put together one
last flowing move fashioned by the half time substitutes.
Glynn laid a pass down the left channel to Caller who beat
two guys and shot, which was spilled by the goalkeeper to
Morrison who was on hand to kiss delight-fully the ball into
the net.
Dramatic escape and a chance to snatch a scrambled win? –
alas not this time. Six weeks into the season and still undefeated,
the bosses for us would have taken that at the start of the
campaign!
