A frustrating match ended in a frustrating result as the
Tornadoes spluttered to a draw against a battling Ise Lodge
Falcons.
The Tornadoes showed in patches their potential to be the
better footballing team, but failed to consistently assert
any authority during the match. Thrapston had the majority
of possession but failed to carve out many good goal scoring
opportunities and showed defensive frailties rarely seen in
the past.
Following a series of corners mid way through the first half
Ryan Caller scored a well taken goal for the Tornadoes. However
Thrapston failed to press on their advantage and paid the
price just before half time. Well into time added on Thrapston
failed to clear a corner and conceded a scrambled goal.
Changes made at half time failed to spark a revival in fortunes
and the second half rarely threatened to spark into real goal-mouth
action.
Realistically Ise Lodge were the happier to gain a draw as
they showed the greater resolve and desire - the Tornadoes
although disappointed at the end know that they are a much
better team than this result indicates.
Final score 1 -1.
