The beat
Ise Lodge Hawks 0 - 1.
Having been one of only two teams to take a point from The
Eagles in the first half of the season, this game was always
going to be close and tense…and so it turned out.
As bright and as sharp as the morning frost that greeted
us, so the Tornadoes set to work in a similar manner. Crisp
clean passing and lots of good movement mesmerised the Hawks,
and this coupled by a solid defence, meant that game was played
largely one-way and in one half.
So having had the lions share of the possession and territorial
advantage, for all their efforts, the Tornadoes only had one
goal to show for all their labours. The goal came early in
the first half when from a corner Graeme Wright was on hand
to bundle the ball over the line. Thereafter, it was a case
of chances created and spurned, however with a defence as
stout as a mighty oak, no goals against would be leaked.
A very good all round performance, but the Tornadoes must
learn to become ruthless and put the opposition to the sword
because against stronger teams opportunities come much less
frequently.
