The started
the second half of their season with a win over Grange United.
With the festivities over with it, was back to footballing
business – so what would 2004 have install for us? Judging
by today’s business, especially in the first half, we
can look forward to a feast of football.
The first half was completely dominated by the Tornadoes
as they played some excellent flowing football. However for
all the hard work and enterprise shown in the first half,
the only reward was through an own goal following a Cameron
Glynn corner which was flicked on by Ryan Caller. This looked
as though it was the only way the Tornadoes were going to
score past an inspired Grange keeper.
The second half started more scrappily with Grange making
a better fist of the fight, but with a defense having dined
on Scrooge over Christmas there was little chance of a shock
result.
Late in the game the Tornadoes finally started to reap what
they had sown. Graeme Wright did his version of Herman Crespo
to rifle in an unstoppable shot and Ryan Caller returned to
the fray having put on his scoring boots, to round off an
excellent performance with two classy goals.
This was more like the Tornadoes of early season, a good
committed footballing performance played as a team. Every
player made a significant contribution and everyone left happily
to conclude a weekend of football.
Parent’s player of the match – Cameron Glynn
