Thrapston made
it 2 out of 2 winning the second game of the season with a
well deserved victory over Raunds Tigers with Reece Evans
scoring both goals in the 2-0 win.
A goal less first half saw Jack Rawcliffe and Reece Evans
beaten by the Raunds Keeper on a number of occasions and Paul
Spicker Thrapston's Keeper, was put to work by the Raunds
wingers who’s best chance hit the post. A lack of confidence
from the Defence and Mid filed during the first half gave
Raunds the chance to keep the pressure on with Thrapston all
to often simply clearing the ball into the other half.
The second half saw a revitalised Thrapston building opportunities
at every chance with Matthew \Watts putting in a fantastic
performance working non stop. Kyle Fox and Carlos Lewis dominated
the mid field pushing forward creating chances for Callum
Mcdermott, Jack Rawcliffe and Reece Evans who were able to
split the Raunds defence on a number of chances only to be
beaten again by the Keeper. The first goal came as Reece saw
himself one on one with the Keeper but squeezing the ball
between the keeper and the post made it 1-0. His second came
shortly afterwards taking on three defenders on the edge of
the box, with e magnificent turn he was past them and the
ball was in the back of the net. Final score 2 - 0.
