The managed to beat
Grange United 6 -2 at home.
After stemming the tide of recent defeats last week, the
team went out determined to enjoy themselves against Grange
United, immediately above us in the table. From the off Thrapston
dominated the field holding shape well, pushing forward at
every chance. The rewards started to come early on with Reece
Evans in fine form scoring the first of 5 he bagged during
the game. Jack Rawcliffe hit the target with the second goal
and then it was back to Reece for the rest with Grange slotting
in one just after the start of the second half and their second
on the final whistle.
A missed penalty, shots hitting the crossbar from midfield
and more than a few goal line scuffles could have swung the
score even further in Thrapstons favour but the players can
be pleased with the quality of football played, still work
to do, but a good effort from all the players.
Thanks to Nick Allington for stepping in at the last moment
and refereeing the game.
