The won their first
game since January beating Kettering Generals 1 - 3 away.
With a game Thrapston needed to win to give them a chance
of staying in the First Division, they started well and took
the lead after 8 minutes. The goal build up started in Thrapston's
own half where the ball was cleared to Keiran Moore on the
right. He made a long run down the right hand flank and delivered
a pin-point cross for Kai Robinson to finish with a volley
over the keepers head. Thrapston continued to dominate, with
Keiran popping up all over the pitch, General's defence unable
to deal with his lightning pace. After 22 minutes, Keiran
set off on his own from the half way line, rode a couple of
tackles, including the keeper, before slotting home into the
empty net. General's tried to get back into the game, but
some resolute defending by George Gardener and Rob Cunningham
kept them at bay, with the keeper having only a few touches.
On the stroke of half time, Thrapston were awarded a corner,
the ball rebounding back out to Kai Robinson who crossed for
Josh Wesby to finish off on the right hand side. Half time
0 - 3.
The second started as the first finished with the away side
looking looking to increase their lead but chances were not
finished. After 10 minutes Thrapston made a couple of substitutions,
but the changes seem to disrupt their play, and General's
pressured to get back in the game. They were rewarded after
a loose ball was not cleared, and the Kettering striker shot
passed the Thrapston keeper. General's scented a come back
but some good stout defending by Ryan Gavin stopped them getting
through. As both teams tired, it was Thrapston who looked
the stronger towards the end, but neither side could add to
their tally. Final score 1 - 3.
