The game started with the Thrapston goal very much under
attack, but good defensive tackling by Jake Woods, Niall Mitchell
and Luke Stevens prevented serious threats.
Halfway through the first half Jake Woods was fouled and
from the resulting free kick Luke Stevens crashed the ball
against the Ise Lodge crossbar, however a minute later after
winning the ball in midfield Luke Stevens attacked the opponents
goal and calmly slotted the ball under the advancing goalkeeper
with his left foot.
Thrapston made a number of changes at half time but still
showed great resolve. Charlie Coulson, last week's man of
the match, continued his good form and was thwarted from scoring
again by the post. Ise Lodge Eagles then began to take the
upper hand, but goalkeeper Josh Smikle in world-class form,
pulling off a number of great saves, which won him man of
the match, Thrapston hung on for a deserved victory. Final
score 0 - 1.
