The continued their
winning ways with a 3 - 0 victory over Vicarage Farm Blue.
Another fine victory saw Thrapston extend their unbeaten
run to 8 games after a fine 3 – 0 win against Vic Farm
Blue.
In a game totally controlled by Thrapston, the Vic Farm goal
was under siege right from the kick off. Jamie Gambrell and
Charlie Coulson both went close within the opening minute.
Charlie Coulson opened the scoring for Thrapston with a good
finish following a corner. His second came a couple of minutes
later when breaking through the Vic farm defence he calmly
slotted the ball past the advancing keeper. Vic Farm never
threatened the Thrapston goal thanks to some good defensive
work by Declan Ward. Half time Thrapston 2 Vic farm Blue 0.
The second half was much the same as the first, with Thrapston
always on the look out for more goals and were unlucky not
to go further ahead in the 14th minute when Tim Sawford had
a good shot that just went the wrong side of the post. However
Thrapston were not able to add to the 2 goal advantage until
the final minute of the game when (Man of the Match) Charlie
Coulson crossed the ball to Jamie Gambrell who finished well
to open his goal scoring account for Thrapston. In extra time
Charlie Coulson was unlucky not to round off his great game
with a hat-trick when rounding the keeper only to see his
shot just past the post.
Well done to the team this week for all the effort, especially
in the knowledge that there were no substitutes available.
