The ended their first
season with a disappointing result losing two nil to Ravens
Utd.
In a competitive and open first half both teams played some
good football but were unable to break through the strong
defensive lines that both teams had in place. Both Charlie
Coulson and Luke Stevens had good efforts that were well saved
by an on form Ravens keeper. Ravens came the closest to scoring
when from a corner the ball rebounded off a number of players
and the post before Josh Smikle the Thrapston keeper managed
to get hold of the ball.
At half time Thrapston made a number of changes and although
Jamie Gambrell and Man of the Match Declan Ward worked hard
they were unable to break the well organised Ravens defence
down. Ravens scored halfway through the second half when the
Thrapston defence was nowhere to be found. Although going
forward Thrapston looked strong the defence was again lacking
when Ravens scored their second.
