The unbeaten run came
to and end losing 1 -3 to Vicarage Farm Claret.
All good things come to an end, and for Thrapston U8’s
it certainly did suffering their first defeat of the season
going down 3 – 1 to Vic Farm Claret.
The holiday break obviously was too much for the Thrapston
team as they never really got going on a rain swept Finedon
pitch. Thrapston were one down, within 2 minutes when Vic
Farm scored directly from the goalkeepers clearance. Thrapston
toiled but rarely troubled a hardworking opposition. The only
bright spot for Thrapston being a strong display by Man of
the Match, Niall Mitchell who was his normally rock steady
self at the back.
The second half started badly for Thrapston who went to sleep
allowing Vic Farm to score from a corner. Thrapston then began
to find some of the form that had see them go eight games
unbeaten, however it was too little too late and Vic Farm
sealed the win with a fine individual third goal. Charlie
Coulson with his ninth goal of the season managed a consolation
goal for Thrapston in the dying seconds of the game.
Many thanks to all the players an supporters who bravely
withstood the driving rain to cheer the team on.
