The managed to reverse
their recent fortunes with a 0 - 4 win over Ise Lodge Falcons.
Thrapston go into the winter break in festive mood, following
a workmanlike victory over a spirited Falcons side.
With instructions to get more shots on target than in previous
weeks, Thrapston started brightly and took the lead after
five minutes, when Tom Alsop shot from the edge of the area.
Alsop then netted superbly from 15 yards to make it two nil,
before completing a first half hatrick, taking the ball round
the keeper before slotting home.
The second half saw constant Thrapston pressure. Jordan Davies
had a shot blocked on the line, Sam Gallagher had a header
saved, and Alsop had further efforts blocked, and put a couple
of shots wide of the target. Thrapston’s only reward
was a own goal, from a deflected Gallagher effort. Falcons
battled hard and had chances themselves to come back into
the match, But Alex Vitue and Connor Morson dealt well with
their efforts on goal.
Final Score, Thrapston Town Four, Falcons Nil
At the half way point in the season, Thrapston have won five
and drawn two of their twelve games, giving them a comfortable
mid table position (if there was a table). This represents
a significant improvement on last season, for which the players
all need to take credit. Roll on January!
