The got back into the
winning habit after their winter break beating Generals 7
- 1.
Earlier in the season the boys secured a 4-0 victory over
Kettering Generals, so it was time to see how far the team
had come since then.
A changed side due to absentees started brightly, and were
soon 1 up thanks to Tom Alsop, who seemed still to have magic
dust on his feet after the festivities. The Generals seemed
quite prepared to play the first 10 minutes in their own half,
and the solid defensive duo of Josh Scarbrow and Alex Vitue
had little to do ( only conceded 3 goals whilst in the same
team all season ).
More goals arrived , another from Alsop, and then his Liverpool
supporting team mate Sam Gallagher.
Half Time was upon us,3-0, and the manager asked for more
of the same in the second half. Liam Toon ( another Liverpool
supporter ) was brought on, and the manager asked him for
a couple of goals. He duly obliged, one a marvellous turn
dribble and finish, the other a typical poachers goal. The
opposition started to wake up and decided they would rather
play in the Thrapston half. Long balls began to rain down,
and the defensive duo were brought into action again and again.
A breakaway goal for Tom Alsop saw him finish his hattrick,
and Thrapstons 6th. Another long ball, and some good attack
play from the Generals saw the ball creep in at the near post
for a consolation. The best was yet to come though, Luke Rivett
had tried hard all match to make his impact and score his
first Thrapston goal, He played a one two with Alsop, and
guided the ball into the back of the net.
Final Score Thrapston Town Jnrs 7:
Kettering Generals 1
And have the team improved, yes most certainly, but more than
that they are enjoying their Football.
Well done again to the boys, and their families for supporting.
