The got back to winning
ways beating Grange United B 4 - 0.
The Blackburn Rovers of the Under 9 Division halted their
disastrous run by claiming their first points in five games
against a spirited United side.
A stuttering start saw Thrapston struggle to assert their
obvious superiority, as they, time and again, failed to find
other yellow shirts with under hit passes. Not until half
way through the first half did Tom Alsop opening the scoring
for Thrapston, latching onto a good through ball from Josh
Cummins. These two combined again for Thrapston’s second,
this time Cummins firing home after an Alsop shot came back
off the woodwork. Half time; two;Nil.
The second half was more of the same, with Alex Vitue, returning
between the sticks after an injury lay off, rarely troubled,
just making one brave save at the feet of an attacker. Sam
Gallagher made it three with a bullet header from an Alsop
cross, with Alsop himself completing the scoring, minutes
from time.
A good result, considering the disasters of previous weeks,
and something to build on.
Final score Thrapston Four, Grange United B Nil
