The gained
a victory at home to Castle Rise. On a beautiful sunny, but
windy day the season kicked off with a highly entertaining
and competitive match between two sides that played some good
football. The play was end to end with Thrapston threatening
on the break. Castle Rise went ahead after a defensive mix
up when Thrapston could not clear. The home side hit back
quickly when Ali Jones beat the offside trap and squared for
Chris Meadway who finished well. Chris Meadway scored again
when he received the ball with his back to goal and again
finished well. Half time 2 - 1. Chris Meadway netted again
just after the break to make the score 3 - 1. To their credit
Castle Rise came back strongly but Chris Meadway scored twice
more to complete an emphatic victory.
