The suffered their heaviest
defeat of the season losing 13 - 0 to Earls Barton Green.
The difference in league positions showed as Thrapston were
3 - 0 down inside ten minutes, and a further three goals before
half time finished off the visitors. The second half saw Thrapston
put a bit of resistance, but Barton soon took control and
scored a further seven goals to leave Thrapston firmly routed
to the bottom of the table.
The earned
a good victory 0 - 4 over Isham Cobras. A very good performance
by Thrapston earned a 0 – 4 score line in the end. Thrapston
led 0 – 1 at half time through a good goal by Jonnie
Lawrence but could have been 2 or 3 up at half time following
missed chances. A goal early in the second half killed the
game, Daniel Lynch scoring his ninth of the season. Further
goals were scored by Andrew Millard and a super shot from
20 yards by Daryl Smith sealed the victory.
The kept
up the pressure at the top of the table with a 5 - 0 home
win over Corby Ravens. Thrapston pressed from the start, with
Ravens looking dangerous on the break, but it was Town who
eventually took a deserved lead when David Cunningham broke
through the Ravens defence and beat the keeper at his far
post. Thrapston were the better side by far and continued
to dominate and doubled their lead when Cunningham headed
in at the near post after great work from Sam Gough and a
deft chip into the box. Chris Meadway made it 3 – 0
at half time after a solo run across the 18 yard box and a
decisive finish from range. In the second half Thrapston kept
tight at the back with notable performances from Maddin and
White, Thrapston eventually made it 4 – 0, with David
Cunningham completing his hat-trick after using his strength
in the box to finish. Meadway scored his second to round off
a controlled performance by Thrapston.
The narrowly
lost 1 - 0 at Finedon Vics. In an even game, Thrapston produced
the better chances but could not finish. The second half saw
Finedon score from a free kick but then had a man sent off.
Despite Thrapston’s dominance in the last quarter, the
missed several opportunities to see Finedon deserve the victory.
