The lost
7 -2 away at Weekley Rovers. With Thrapston kicking up the
hill and against the wind, the first half was dominated by
Rovers, who scored five goals without reply. The second half
saw Thrapston take advantage of the conditions, scoring two
excellent goals, one by Ryan Gavin and a good shot by Kai
Robinson to make it 5 -2. Thrapston couldn't extend their
scoring any further and Rovers added two more goals to make
the final score 7 - 2.
The won 5 - 1 at home
to league leaders Weekley Rovers. The first half was totally
dominated by Thrapston with Daniel Lynch opening the scoring
from the penalty spot after Adam Hope was brought down. Two
goals from Jack Petty and a Cory James header totally knocked
the stuffing out of Rovers. Two more goals towards the end
of the half by Adam Hope and Daryl Smith gave the home side
a 5 - 0 lead at half time. The second half was more evenly
matched, with Weekley scoring a consolation goal shortly before
the end. Final score 5 - 1.
The lost 2 - 1 away at
Ise Hearts with Chris Meadway getting Thrapston's goal.
The stayed
on course to win the league with a win over Kingswood. Thrapston
kept the pressure on Finedon with a 2-0 win away to a battling
Kingswood side. Thrapston started the game well and were unlucky
when a penalty appeal was turned down, but Thrapston plugged
away and eventually earned a penalty via Jake Wesby. Unfortunately
Dean Barber was unlucky when the keeper pulled off a great
save. But Barber’s head did not drop when he scored
the first goal within a minute of missing from the spot. Thrapston
went into the second half 1-0 but a battling Kingswood side
kept them on their toes. Thrapston hung on until the last
second when Dean Barber went through on the keeper took it
around him and gifted Thrapston the three points.
