Thrapston Town 5 - Kettering Generals Red 0
With a chile wind riesling from the north this
games appellation was always going to be premier rather than
a grand cru vintage, especially when the preparations were
somewhat unsettled when goalkeeper Mathew Hansord reported
in with a sprained wrist. A swap of positions with central
defender Ryan Wright and Mateus rose to the occasion to turn
in a rioja solid performance.
Thrapston started the match and set up camp in the Generals
provence region, and began their domination the game. Justice
was done when William Morrison opened the scoring with a non
too chablis finish from the edge of the area with a grape
shot over the keeper. This was the only goal of the first
half which was the only thing the managers could wine about
in a half that Thrapston contoleed.
Fortified by their half time quaff and briefing from the
management, Thrapston played with great maturation which fermented
into a well rounded, full bodied vintage performance. The
crowd were working up a thirst for goals and were served up
with a sparkling display of beaujolais football.
A nouveaux half saw Caller finally find his shooting boots
macon no mistake when put clear of the flat generals defense.
Graeme Wright added a third goal when although the keeper
thought the cross shot was cuveed his far post cross eluded
everyone to vined the net – things were now looking
graves for the Generals as they realised they were going to
take a tanin.
Thrapstons fourth goal came from a free kick when Caller
was hocked down on the edge of the area following a robust
challenge. Morrison delivered a corker of a free kick and
in the resulting scramble Caller loired the keeper to finish
with a fleurie.
The final and champagne moment came from Alexander Palmer.
A fluid and fluent move saw Palmer barolo his way through
the heart of the Generals defence to complete the bouquet
load of goals Thrapston were to harvest.
Kettering Generals trudged from the field chateauxed and
broken having drawn a blanc against the margauxless Thrapston
team that turned in a performance bordeauxing on the soave
– sauternesly this was one of Thrapstons most impressive
matches this season that they won at a decanter.
