Thrapston had high hopes of winning their first match of the season against
the newly promoted Valley side, and for the first 20 minutes
the game stayed pretty even, with few chances at goal . Valley
were awarded a soft penalty, but former Town keeper Harry
Allington skied the ball high over the away goal. Shortly
after Valley park were 1 - 0 up. Half time 1 - 0.
The second half saw Valley press for the second and they
were duly rewarded after 10 minutes. Thrapston battled on
but were second best in most areas of the pitch, only the
Thrapston keeper Oli Ventham keeping the score down. On 25
minutes Valley Park were awarded a free kick 25 yards out
which was converted over the out-stretched Thrapston keeper.
Valley made it four shortly before the end. A poor display
by the away team. Final score 4 - 0.
