Thrapston started nervously against the strong
wind and soon fell behind after a defensive mix up. Orchard
Park kept the pressure up and Thrapston were unable to clear
and conceded a second making the score 0 - 2 at half time.
In the second half Thrapston looked like a different
team piling on the pressure and scored an early goal when
Chris Meadway lashed in a shot to score his 9th of the season.
Thrapston maintained the pressure with Orchard Park making
counter attacks. The home side pressure eventually told when
after a good build up, Steven Wildman struck a shot from 25
yards into the roof of the net 'Beckhamesque' style. Thrapston
with their tails up squandered chances and were unlucky with
shots from Dickinson, Nicholson and Meadway hitting the woodwork.
Chris Meadway eventually scored his second after a corner
was not cleared and he buried it from close range.
Thrapston held on for a deserved victory despite
nearly throwing it away, following Sammy Cobley's poor clearance
keeping up their 100% record. Final score 3 - 2.
