This week we found ourselves up against a strong
Danesholme Vikings side, having to make a few enforced defensive
changes due to holidays and sickness. Starting line up Kern
Charlie Kyran Harry Max Subs Lucaas Alistair
We went straight on the attack against a strong Vikings side
and found it hard to break down their strong defence and good
keeper.However we kept the pressure on and from a Harry corner
Max volleyed us into a 1-0 lead. Vikings started to come back
into the game, but some very strong tackling and some good
defensive play by Charlie and Kyran meant Kern had little
to do apart from organise his defenders. Half Time 1-0.
Subs Alistair for Kyran. We continued to put the Vikings
defence under pressure, but couldn't get that all important
2nd goal to put the game beyond them . Then from a Vikings
corner, they equalised, 1-1.Charlie was playing out of his
skin at the back, but had to come off after getting a whack
in the face.(Lucaas on). We now went in search of the winner,
however the ball wasn't running for us - Max hit the post,Harry
came close 2 or 3 times.Then Lucaas won a tackle on the left
and crossed for Harry who finished superbly to make it 2-1.
Shortly after Harry shot at the keeper who spilled the ball
to Max who made no mistake to make it 3-1 final score. A good
performance, particularly defensively, where Charlie had his
best game yet.
It didn't look like it was going to be our day, but we kept
going and got the result in the end. Well done. Thanks to
