What a difference a week makes, last weeks comments obviously
sunk in as the Thrapston Town of old returned.
Kicking off down hill, Thrapston had plenty of possession
but failed to create any serious opportunities or clear-cut
chances, however with a great work rate from the Thrapston
players Aztec were not allowed to pressurize the Thrapston
goal and the majority of the first half was fought out in
the middle of the pitch.

With Thrapston now kicking up the hill the continued work
rate from the first half was maintained and the fruits of
this were borne out when Jake Hankins ran half the length
of the pitch before making the Aztec keeper produce a fine
save, however the keeper was unable to hold on to the ball
which rebounded to (Man of the Match) Connor Ryan who slotted
the ball into the empty net. This spurred on the Warriors
and only some good goalkeeping from Josh Smikle and a large
slice of “Lady Luck” prevented Aztec from equalizing.
