Thrapston were very lucky to finish the game with a draw.
After a very competitive and energetic start to the game Thrapston
applied plenty of pressure to the Ise Lodge goal and were
rewarded by a good finish by Luke Stevens mid way through
the first half. Although Thrapston kept the pressure on they
were unable to score any further goals due to poor finishing
and a brave and proficient goalkeeping display by the Ise
Lodge keeper. Towards the end of the first half the usual
Thrapston problem of a “sleepy defence” was slow
to react to a goal kick and they were punished by Ise Lodge
scoring an equaliser.
Half Time 1 – 1.
Thrapston made a couple of substitution at half time and
were immediately put under pressure by Ise Lodge. In fact
this was to be the way of the second half as Thrapston very
rarely ventured out of their own half due to some good football
from Ise Lodge. Only luck and a great goalkeeping display
by man of the match Josh Smikle prevented Thrapston from losing
this game.
