For the third week in a row in a competitive and close game
Thrapston lost by the odd goal.
The first half saw Thrapston kicking up hill and were unlucky
not to go ahead when a fine shot from Jake Hankins flew just
over the bar. Generals were well-organized and played some
good football which penned Thrapston in their own half. From
the first corner of the game Generals scored. With the slope
on their side Generals kept the pressure on and managed to
score two further goals, sloppy defending again being a worry
for the Manager. However, just before the half time break
Man of the Match Luke Stevens managed to pull one back with
a shot creeping in at the far post.
With Thrapston kicking down hill second half, effort and
determination was there for all to see and it was not long
until it Thrapston pulled a second goal back. Luke Stevens
managed to beat a couple players after a fine pass from Jamie
Gambrell before releasing a rasping shot, which left the keeper
with no chance. Generals rallied and defended well and with
the minutes ticking by Thrapston were unable to get that elusive
equaliser no matter how hard they tried.
