Another below par performance saw Thrapston fail to get into
the game against a well-organized and hard working Burton
Youth. Thrapston struggled right from the start of the game
and although a number of Thrapston players put plenty of effort
in they were let down by other team members who “turned
up just for the game”. However luck was on Thrapston’s
side and although not playing well managed to go in at half-time
all square at 0 – 0.
Early in the second half indecisive defending and the inability
to clear the ball from their box enabled Burton to score with
the ball going under a diving Josh Smikle. In the past this
has galvanised Thrapston into action, however this was not
to be the case today.
