In a thrilling and flowing game Thrapston produced probably
their best display of the season against the Ise Lodge Hawks.
From the first kick to the last Thrapston chased and fought
for every ball and covered every inch of the pitch in a close
and keenly contested game. With both sides evenly matched
and playing well, chances were few and far between although
Thrapston had a great chance when Luke Stevens crossed a ball
into the heart of the Ise Lodge penalty area only for the
chance to be wasted.
With a couple of changes made at halftime the game continued
to be a thriller with only some great goalkeeping by both
keepers and some superb defending by Man of the Match Jamie
Gambrell, preventing any goals. Thrapston were unlucky not
to take the points in the last minute when Luke Stevens broke
from his own half with only the keeper to beat, however a
fine save from the Ise Lodge keeper kept the scores level.
Final Score
Thrapston Town 0
Ise Lodge Hawks 0
Managers Note
What a great performance by everybody, nobody gave up, you
fought for every ball and played some lovely football. As
well as the Man of the Match two other performances worthy
of a mention were by Josh Smikle for a great display in goal
and Luke Stevens who ran after every ball and chased back
to give added support to the defence.
