The recent good form continued from the start as Thrapston
played with the advantage of kicking down hill and put together
some good passes / movement. Kettering Generals applied pressure
through the first half with a couple of good chances only
to be stopped by man of the match Jordan Knox and Goalkeeper
Josh Smikle.
Towards the end of the first half Thrapston defense again
retrieved the ball and the pass found Declan Ward on the half
way line, passing a couple of defenders he scored to put Thrapston
ahead.
The second half started well but with the advantage now with
Kettering Generals the equalizer came from some good play
and was shortly followed by a second.
Thrapston picked themselves up with good work from Matthew
Smith and Ryan Watkin and with tired legs made a last minute
effort with Jake Hankins picking the ball up from the half
way line, passing two defenders found the back of the net
to mirror Thrapston’s first goal.
The game ended 2 - 2 with some excellent work from both teams,
it was a pleasure to watch.
