Thrapston started the second half of the season
with a hardworking and committed performance against Burton
Youth Utd. Thrapston took an the lead within the first four
minutes with the first of Luke Stevens’ 3 goals. Thrapston
should have gone further ahead but Jamie Gambrells penalty
hit the base of the post rebounding to safety. Further pressure
saw Thrapston add to their goal tally with goals from Declan
Ward (2) and Man of the Match Matthew Smith scoring four in
his best performance to date.
Credit must go to the Burton players who regardless of the
score line continued to look for that elusive goal and made
Thrapston work for the entire game.
