The still
couldn't stop the losing streak, this week defeated by Finedon
Vics 1 - 7 at home. A good start to the match with the home
side 1 - 0 up after 3 minutes following a goal from Ben Cramp,
but Finedon soon equalised on the break. Thrapston's makeshift
team, many regulars unavailable or injured, couldn't cope
with Finedon's pace up front and were caught a further 4 times
before the break to end the half 1 - 5 down. A better 2nd
half performance saw Thrapston battle well, but it was Finedon
who added to their tally with a further two goals to make
the final score 1 - 7.
The , still looking for
their first win of the season, were narrowly beaten at home
by Mawsley United. Another disappointing result for Thrapston
after playing so well in the first half. A nasty injury to
striker Daryl Smith in his first game back after breaking
his arm resulted in him having nine stitches in a leg wound!
Thrapston continued to control the game in the second half
with Danny Lynch going close by hitting the bar but an unfortunate
mistake by Thrapston's stand-in keeper left the home side
cursing their luck once again.
