After a two week weather enforced break, Thrapston started
the game brightly and within 2 minutes Matthew Smith continue
his rich goal scoring form by slotting home a through ball
from Luke Stevens. The same combination produced the second
goal just before half time when Luke Stevens beat a couple
of players and produced a great cross for Matthew Smith to
tap home for his second of the game, during the first half
Thrapston produced some lovely fluent football and were only
prevented from going further in front by some great goalkeeping
by the Ise Lodge keeper.
Thrapston made a couple of changes at half time and were
punished near enough from the kick off when Ise Lodge walked
through a sleeping defence to pull one goal back. Thrapston
struggled to wake up in the second half and their game suffered
with numerous missed or missing tackles allowing Ise Lodge
to pressurise the Thrapston goal for most of the half, only
a brave piece of goalkeeping from Josh Smikle prevented any
further goals being given away. Right at the end of the game
Thrapston won a corner, which Connor Ryan delivered, perfectly
for Ryan Watkin to head home. Final Score 3 –1 to Thrapston.
