They often say football is a game of two halves and today
it most certainly was !!
A lacklustre first half saw Thrapston unable to convert numerous
chances into goals. With plenty of possession, poor finishing
and failure to look at the options available the management
were worried as to whether this was to be “Burton Youth”
all over again !!
However, with a couple of substitutions and some stern words
at half time, Thrapston looked a completely different team
in the second half, we had remembered how to play football
and pass the ball around, Man of the Match, Matthew Smith
making a big impact coming on for the second half and promptly
scoring a hatrick. Thrapston again dominated this half but
certainly seemed to have more of an edge, Connor Ryan and
Connor “Gatesy” Gates both deserved their goals
for the workrate that they both put in through out the game.
