On a very wet and windy morning, Thrapston came out and scored
2 goals in as many minutes. A completely different team to
the one who played last week. We looked confident throughout
the match and were unselfish in our passing. Thrapston’s
only cause for concern in the first half was a good shot from
Raunds, which hit the bar but was soon pounced on by Thrapston’s
keeper Josh Smikle one further goal was scored prior to the
half time interval.
Thrapston started the second half kicking down the slope
and were near enough unstoppable with Luke Stevens completing
his hat trick and eventually ending up with four goals, Connor
“Gatesy” Gates with 2 and Matthew Smith 2 both
scored directly from corners and Declan Ward 1.The defence
looked extremely good today especially Matty “Man of
the Match” Watkin who worked hard throughout the game
and turned defence into attack with some precision passing.
