Corby Kingswood Kestrels 6 v Thrapston Town
0
A game of two halves it was, the first half
where we didn’t take any of our attacking opportunities,
and our defenders wouldn’t put their foot through the
ball for a clearance.
The First goal conceded after about 10 mins, an obvious handball
went unnoticed by the officials, and the ball what slotted
into the back of the net.
Some decent play in spells by Thrapston, but were to be 2
down at half time, when numerous chances to clear the ball
were not taken, and Corby rolled in the second.
The second half was much of the same, only worse –
Less chances for Thrapston, Bambi may have done better with
some of them.
Midfield were failing to close down players, just watching
them run right by, and the defence seemed to be marking each
other rather than the opposition.
A Great penalty save by the Thrapston keeper, and numerous
other saves in the second half was the highlight for Thapston.
The last 8 minutes or so the team literally spectators as
they stood and watched another 4 goals go by,making little
more than a cursory effort to stop the Corby advance.
There is no Wayne Rooney to come in to make the difference,
Do we need to be Sven like and drop some of the stars.
The clear point is, there will be changes for the next league
game and the players who today didn’t perform will need
to work hard to maintain their places in the squad.
