Rockingham Forest Colts 0 v Thrapston Town 8
For the second weekend running Thrapston had
strong winds to battle as well as the opposition, but in the
end their wind power proved to be a sustainable resource and
their accent up the table powers on.
A much changed Thrapston outfit began brightly and should
have taken the lead within the opening minute, but the chance
bent begging. Eventually an OG would calm the nerves and get
the town underway.
However, as they had the vast majority of possession, Town
players lost their shape a little with the midfield often
working alongside the attackers, and it was inevitable that
they would get in each others way in and around the box and
so it proved on a number of occasions.
But they persevered and got reward through Josh Cummins,
Luke Rivett and Tom Alsop to lead four nil at half time. This
was the sort of half that just flies by and then you are surprised
and can’t believe that time is up when the whistle blows.
In the second half the DLT attacking force began to work
much better as a unit, with neat interplay creating chances
for each other. Luke (goal a game) Rivett was to benefit from
this, when released for his second. And then – bang,
bang, bang. The ringleader of the tormentors, Devante Hodgson
weighed in with a well taken hat trick to make the final score
8-0.
So, a good confidence boosting win for the side. Next up
its Ise Lodge as Town look to keep this unbeaten run going.

MOTM – Lots of options today from back to front, but
when you score your first hat trick for a side, surely you
deserve the accolade, and so the award went to Devante Hodgson.
