After dominating much of the first half on a
pitch that badly needed the grass cutting Thrapston took a
two goal lead in to the second half with a goal a piece from
the two forwards, Matthew Watts and Reece Evans.
The second half opened with a sharper Oakley
scoring on the break only to find them selves out played as
the Thrapston central midfielders, Daniel Smith and Carlos
Lewis opened up the game supported by Ryan Kirk and Kyle Fox
creating endless chances for wingers and forwards alike. Using
speed and space well, Reece Evans went on to score four, Jack
Rawcliffe 1 and Jordan Ward squeezed one between keeper and
post to make the final score 3-7 after Oakley scored two second
half goals, one a penalty given for hand ball and another
in wide from the wing.
An excellent effort from Thrapston spoilt only when keeper
Andy Bird after saving the ball was kicked in the head by
one of the opposition.
