End to end football during the opening minutes saw both teams
pushing forward creating danger in the 18 yard boxes and only
solid defending from Boro, bringing shouts for a penalty,
stopped Reece Evans opening the scoring for Thrapston within
the first 5 minutes.
2 minutes later a flick on from Callum Vorley saw Reece in
the box again to take the first of his hatrick. Constant pressure
from both Jack Rawcliffe(MOM) and Paul Spicker was rewarded
in the 17th minute when right back Kyle Fox picked up on poor
clearance from the Boro defence lobbing into the far corner
of the net from some 20 yards out.
Jack’s high work rate paid off again after 22 minutes
with a high cross to the edge of the 6-yard box volleyed home
by Paul Spicker giving the Keeper no chance. 3-0 at half time.
The second half saw a renewed Boro putting greater pressure
on Thrapston's defence and superb hard work from Will Anns
supported by Ryan Kirk in central defence thwarted numerous
through balls from the Boro mid field. Keeper Matthew Watts
was put to the test with various long range shots but as the
clock ticked on Thrapston’s midfield regained control
of the game as Reece Evans scored his second followed by Jack
bagging 2 in 2 minutes with the backing of Andy Meadway. Luke
Cottage’s switch from Left back to Central Midfield
paid dividends in the last few minutes with some of the best
passing in the game resulting in Reece’s last goal moments
before the final whistle. 7-0
A great all round effort with 2 clean sheets and 20 goals
in 2 games.
