A 6 yard box defensive error after 2 minutes
saw Vic Farm handed a gift goal allowing them to settle and
push forward. A split Thrapston defence shortly after put
Vic Farm 2 in front before Haydn Jons volleyed from inside
the 6 yard box to make it 2-1. Vic Farm responded with another
and looked the sharper team beating Thrapston to the ball
all too often until Jordan Ward twisting and turning past
two defenders hit the target from the tightest of angles followed
by Haydn’s second a minute later. 3-3 at half time.
The second half saw Vic Farm hit the bar 3 times and only
center backs Carlos Lewis (MOM) and Will Anns held the score
level until a sharper Vic Farm took the score to 7-3 with
Thrapston unable to respond.
Danny Smith had another excellent game working hard in mid
field and the rest of the team could do with some of Danny’s
stamina and desire when it comes to being first to the ball.
As in our first meeting with Vic Farm this season, high balls
into our 18 yard box went unchecked, if we can’t change
that before our next meeting Vic Farm may well be the first
team celebrating promotion at the end of the season.
