Thrapston Town Blues 0 v Weekley Rovers Purple
1
I have tried to look at the game as a whole and understand
where we are going wrong.
Today's game whilst better than last week showed distinct
lack of team work and skill.
Attackers today spent too much time the wrong side of the
defenders expecting the ball to come to them and not helping
out in mid-field to make it happen.
Defenders had poor clearances. All players have a problem
when it comes to muddy pitches, your skills are noticeably
different than games where the pitch is better. You all played
soft passes and the lack of tackling today was a reason why
you never scored.
You all can play football, but it seams that you have forgotten
how to pass, tackle and make movement off the ball.
What I cannot understand is that yesterday in training I
saw some fantastic football and movement, today's game displayed
very little of the flair of yesterday.
The game was not a lack luster game you all tried hard but
you all need to talk to each other and work as a team if you
want to play better and defeat other teams.
A bit of mud should not stop you playing football, but you
all need to think hard about how you play the game in conditions
like that, passing needs to be more accurate and clearances
need to be timed correctly, mid field play needs supported
and in general movement off the ball needs to be in closer
proximity.
Finally, don't just stand there and wait for a ball to come
to you, go get it and follow up on your shot, we could have
had two goals today if we had been quicker to pounce on a
loose ball.
OK enough of the moan, I look forward to seing you all at
the Xmas Party Sunday 11th Dec 1pm-3pm.... Indoor Football
so trainers.
