After a 2 week break due to the weather we were up against
Ket Gen Red who like ourselves have been having a good season.
Right from the off we were on the attack playing some lovely
football with Harry bossing the middle and Liam making some
great runs down the left pulling the Reds defence all over
the place, but try as we might and not for the 1st time this
season we didn't get the rub of the green that you sometimes
need, which turns great performances into great victories.
Max hit the woodwork twice Liam shot narrowly over as we laid
siege to the Reds goal.Kern not having touched the ball! Half
time 0-0.
2nd half. We carried on trying to make the breakthrough but
the Reds sat deeper and deeper making it difficult for us
to find space. Scott on for Liam. Again we hit the woodwork
this time through Scott after a good run down the right.The
Reds had a game plan, sit deep and hit us on the break. This
was to prove a good tactic for them as they hit us with the
sucker punch. 1-0. Ali on for Charlie. Sometimes in matches
you just get the feeling that it's not going to be your day
and today that's what happened. Completely in control only
to get hit on the break. Final score 1-0.
Although a disappointing result the football that we played
particularly in the 1st half was outstanding, sometimes playing
the beautiful game the right way can be more rewarding than
the result itself. Today if there was any justice we would
have won convincingly.Excellent performance wrong result!
